This applicaiton was meant to breakdown the daunting task of building a PC and simplifying it so beginners have a better undstanding of what each part does and where it goes in a PC. The application was meant to find the balance of being visually appealing but also informative. This applicaiton was created in adobe animate using action script with some 3D models from 3DS Max.
PC Parts - Home Page
This is the home page to the PC parts application, from here you can navigate to any of the pages the application has.
The design of the home page establishes the colour scheme of the project aswell as give the user a place to land once the application is open so that they can get themselves ready before use.
The colour scheme is blue, white and black as those colours represent calm, clean and modern which is what is expected when it comes to PC related things.
PC Parts - Location Page
The location page is the first place id recommend going when using the application as it will help with your understanding on the following pages.
The location page allows the user to hover over areas of the PC mockup on the right and give them some imformation about what it is and steps for installing it.
This page also has a navigation bar located on the top right which has features like, return to the home page, go to the previous/next page and an audio description.
PC Parts - Inspection Page
The Inspection page allows the user to select between the 5 PC parts show on the left side and get a 3D view of what they could look like. PC parts may vary from brand to brand so the models are meant to give a general idea so that the user doesnt get worried if their product isnt exactly the same as the one in the application.
This page also has a navigation bar located on the top right which has features like, return to the home page, go to the previous/next page and an audio description.
PC Parts - Build A PC Page
The Build A PC page allows the user to text their memory and see if they can remember where the PC parts go on the PC mockup from earlier. The interactive element of this page is that the user can drag the objects from the left to the right and see if they remember where they go inside the PC.
This is a way to see if the user understood the information given to them in a safe space rather them risking breaking the actual expensive computer parts.
This page features a 3D and 2D view of the objects so the user can swap between them to make sure they recognise the PC part theyre looking at.
